Miguel’s approach shot hit the green (making a pitch mark) and rolled onto the fringe. With the
pitch mark located on the line of play of his next shot, Miguel wants to repair his pitch mark.
Rule 13 (2) covers this situation by allowing “repair of damage…to restore the putting green to
its original position”. So the pitch mark being on the green does make a difference.

Ronald’s tee shot on the 14 th hole was pulled left and came to rest on the 17 th green.
Being in a close match with Felix, Ronald elects to play his second shot from the green. Felix
protests and claims Ronald is required to take a drop away from the green. Ronald argues
dropping is just an option and he is following the rules by playing his ball as it lies. Who, if
either, is correct?
