Jim began his Golf Career as an Assistant Professional at Fairfield Harbour in 1986, and enrolled in the PGA Apprentice Program in 1987. After working at Fairfield for almost 3 years, Jim was selected as the Golf Course Manager aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point as a non-member Head Professional on March 20, 1989. For the next 34 years Jim had the honor of serving our Marines, Sailors, and their families at Sound of Freedom Golf Course. Jim received his PGA of America Class A Membership on April 1, 1994.

Jim was born in Mt. Holly New Jersey and raised in Asheboro, NC.  He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating with a B.S. in Industrial Relations.
