Shelby Choate is a dedicated professional in the field of turf management, having honed her expertise at the University of Georgia Turf Management School and earning an associate's degree in science. Her journey began at Cutter Creek in 2021, where she quickly rose through the ranks to become the 1st assistant by March of 2022. In May of 2023, Shelby joined Carolina Colours as the 1st assistant, showcasing her exceptional skills and knowledge in the industry. Her hard work and commitment paid off when she was promoted to the esteemed position of Golf Course Superintendent in August of 2024 at Carolina Colours.

Outside of work, Shelby shares her life with her husband, Devon, and their 9-month-old son, Waylon. They stay busy, housing horses, donkeys, chickens, ducks, pigs, dogs, cats, and even two pet snakes. With her passion for turf management and her loving family by her side, Shelby continues to excel in her career while nurturing her diverse array of beloved animals at home.
